(The Raw Story) — Right-wing media figures of all stripes are outraged that New York Gov. Chris Cuomo (D) said that New York state is no place for “extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay” Republicans.
“(T)hey have no place in the state of New York,” the governor said, “because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”
The Albany Times-Union reported that Cuomo was speaking to Susan Arbetter on the New York Public Broadcasting radio show “The Capitol Pressroom.”
The National Review’s Kathryn Jean Lopez interpreted Cuomo’s statements to mean anyone who opposes abortion. In a column titled “Pro-Life? Not Welcome in Andrew Cuomo’s New York,” she lamented that people who want do deny a woman’s right to choose are, as ever, being unfairly persecuted.
She called Cuomo an agent of “the culture of death” and bemoaned New York’s “miserable [sic] high occurrences of the grave, irreversible misery” of abortion.
CNN conservative commentator S. E. Cupp took to Twitter to denounce the governor:
The conversation with Arbetter was about the current schism in the GOP between moderate Republicans and Tea Party extremists.
“Is the Republican party in this state a moderate party or is it an extreme conservative party?” he asked. “That’s what they’re trying to figure out. It’s a mirror of what’s going on in Washington. The gridlock in Washington is less about Democrats and Republicans. It’s more about extreme Republicans versus moderate Republicans.”
Townhall.com called the governor’s remarks “condescending” and demanded to know how liberals would feel if conservative governors made similar remarks about liberals.
The website’s Cortney O’Brien urged readers not to be “soft on Cuomo.”
“We should be attacking his comments,” she said, “which alienated a large bloc of voters, just as much as the left jumped all over Romney’s ‘47 percent’ gaffe.”

In what has to be a shock to Michelle Obama’s system, Ancestry.com did some research to find FLOTUS’ white roots, and I’m not talking grey hair.
You might not know it to look at her, but Michelle Obama has some white in her.

President Putin said in an address that gay visitors to the 2014 Winter Olympics
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday that homosexuals travelling to his country for the 2014 Winter Olympics next month should feel comfortable. He cautioned them to “just leave kids alone.”
His remarks were aired during a meeting with volunteers at the Olympic mountain venue at Krasnaya Polyana. It seemed to be an effort to assuage concerns from participating nations around the globe in regard to Russia’s tough position regarding homosexuality.
Putin said, “We have no ban on the nontraditional forms of sexual intercourse among people. We have the ban on the propaganda of homosexuality and pedophilia. I want to stress this: propaganda among minors. These are two absolutely different things: a ban on certain relations or the propaganda of such relations.”
His statement was carried on Russian television.
Putin assured his audience that there would be no discrimination against gays at the Olympics. He said, “One can feel calm and at ease. Just leave kids alone, please.”
Putin commented as to the promotion of pedophilia which is being considered in some countries. He said, “There is nothing secret about it, look it up on the Internet and you’ll find it straightaway. Parties have raised the issue with certain parliaments. So what, are we supposed to shuffle behind them like puppies toward unknown consequences? We have our own traditions, our own culture; we treat all our partners with respect and ask for our traditions and our culture to be treated with respect as well.”
The legal system may be paying particular attention to the issue of gays in Russia, as is the Russian Orthodox Church. That church, closely allied with Putin, was the recipient of the protest by the members of the group, Pussy Riot, which resulted in their imprisonment for hooliganism.
A senior church cleric called this month for a national debate over the reinstatement of a Soviet-era law which criminalized gay sex. That law was repealed in 1993.
Some nations had voiced concerns over what they feared would be potential discrimination at the Games following the passage of a law against disseminating homosexual propaganda to minors was passed this past Summer by the Russian Duma, their parliament.
Russian authorities have acted to reassure their Olympic guests as well as placing restrictions upon protests during the Sochi Games.

The House passed a $1.1 billion dollar budget in the middle of the night that the New York Times declared a defeat for the Tea Party. There are Republicans against the Tea Party, Democrats against the Tea Party, and Independents against the Tea Party. So what makes the Tea Party so scary, or as Harry Reid puts it, “Anarchists”?
Perhaps it is the fact that the Tea Party keeps lists like this:
1. Appointment of a “shadow government” of some 35+ individuals termed “czars” who are not confirmed by the Senate and respond only to the president, yet have overarching regulatory powers – a clear violation of the separation of powers concept. Obama bypassed the Senate with many of his appointments of over 35 “czars.”
2. No congressional support for Libyan action (violation of the War Powers Act ). Obama lied to the American people when he said that there were no US troops on the ground in Libya and then later said they were only “logistical troops.” Obama violated the War Powers Act of 1973 by conducting a war against Libya without Congressional authorization.
3. Betraying of allies ( Israel and Great Britain. Obama has placed the security of our most trusted ally in the Middle East, Israel, in danger while increasing funding to the Palestinian Authority (Fatah, just another Islamic terrorist group) whilst they have enjoined a reconciliation pact with long-standing terrorist group Hamas and the disclosure of British nuclear secrets to the Russians in the Start Treaty. Obama gave missile codes to British Trident missiles to Russia.
4. Backdoor implementation of the DREAM Act which would grant 22 million illegals amnesty. Obama passed the Dream Act through an executive order, bypassing Congress again. DREAM is: Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors
5. Telegraphing troop reductions to enemies – against the consult of his experienced field commanders – while embracing negotiations with our enemy, the Taliban, and recognizing another, the Muslim Brotherhood.
6. Betrayal of Arizona. Obama brought a federal lawsuit against a sovereign state, Arizona, seeking to protect its citizens from this threat of mass illegal immigration
7. Obama’s Failure to enforce U.S. law, the Defense of Marriage Act. He’s stripped America of its moral base by his support for homosexuality and the attack on marriage between a man and a women Obama allows the DOJ to refuse to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act.
8. Support of an inept and incompetent attorney general who has failed to prosecute voter intimidation cases (New Black Panther Party), initiated a dangerous gun-smuggling program (Operation Fast and Furious) – which resulted in deaths to one of our own law enforcement agents.
Obama allowed Operation Fast and Furious to occur, which allowed hundreds of Mexican nationals and Border Agent Brian Terry to be murdered with illegal arms given out by the ATF and DOJ.
9. Increasing the regulatory burden on American business through bypassing the legislative process with his executive branch agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Food and Drug Administration.
10. Failure to take the steps necessary to secure our borders and stem the flow of illegal immigration, termed as “repel invasions” in our United States Constitution in Article 1, Section 8 and Article 4, Section 4.
Obama has failed to defend US soil in Arizona as Mexican troops bring illegals and drugs into the USA, crossing the border doing so. This is a direct violation of Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution.
11. Inappropriately commanding the release of strategic oil reserves and providing Brazil $2 billion for its offshore oil exploration.
12. Illegally soliciting funds from within the White House ($5 dinner video fundraiser). The unalienable rights endowed to us by the Creator; life, liberty, and the pursuit (not guarantee) of happiness – are being threatened by the Obama administration.
This current government has abridged the consent of the governed and that whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends. It is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it.

(Info Wars) — Obama is so desperate to brush aside the governments illegal NSA spying activity that he compared it to the actions of patriot Paul Revere.
In a speech that was billed as an announcement of “reforms” to the NSA’s mass spying practices, the president argued that the US has a long history of defending liberty by conducting surveillance. Obama even cited Paul Revere, in remarks clearly designed to justify government spying on its own citizens.
To virtually no one’s surprise, the president’s “reforms” will not stop NSA’s mass spying, and this was immediately evident in the opening remarks of Obama’s speech when he attempted to argue that in times of war, the US has always used surveillance to secure freedom.
“At the dawn of our Republic, a small, secret surveillance committee borne out of the “The Sons of Liberty” was established in Boston.” Obama stated. “The group’s members included Paul Revere, and at night they would patrol the streets, reporting back any signs that the British were preparing raids against America’s early Patriots.”
Note how in the first sentence, using incredibly Orwellian tactics, Obama has twisted the facts to link spying to patriotism, and to suggest that the earliest American icons were engaged in the same sort of activity as today’s NSA.
Obama then went on to cite the Civil War, World War II, and the Cold War, arguing that “Throughout American history, intelligence has helped secure our country and our freedoms.”
