Ever Wonder How Obama Graduated With Honors From Harvard? Now You’ll Know
The short answer: Harvard grades are ‘bought and paid for.’
[H/T The Blaze] — The most common grade handed out to students at Harvard University is an “A,” according to one school official.
Dean of Undergraduate Education Jay M. Harris confirmed to The Harvard Crimson on Tuesday afternoon that the Ivy League school’s median grade is an “A-” and that the most frequently awarded score is a solid “A.”
The revelations were first uncovered after government professor Harvey C. Mansfield asked Harris at the monthly meeting for the information.
“A little bird has told me that the most frequently given grade at Harvard College right now is an A-,” Mansfield said, according to The Crimson. “If this is true or nearly true, it represents a failure on the part of this faculty and its leadership to maintain our academic standards.”
Harris quickly responded.
“I can answer the question, if you want me to,” he said. “The median grade in Harvard College is indeed an A-. The most frequently awarded grade in Harvard College is actually a straight A.”

According to one faculty member in attendance, measures should be put into place to do something about this.
“I don’t know what should be done about it, but it seems to me troubling,” Classics Department chair Mark J.Schiefsky reportedly said. “One has a range of grades to give and one would presumably expect a wider distribution.”
The Crimson reports that Harvard’s rival institutions have also struggled with “grade inflation,” adding that Princeton has restructured their grading system in an effort to combat it.
New Benghazi Testimony Confirms White House Had Time to Respond
[H/T PJ Media] — Members of the House Intelligence Committee learned in a closed-door briefing yesterday that more contractors are corroborating the report that the Obama administration had plenty of time to respond to the attack on the Benghazi diplomatic facility.
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) called the new information “outstanding testimony.”
“And essentially what they were able to prove today, they basically backed up the other contractors who were on the ground in the two previous hearings. So this is an ongoing investigation,” Nunes said Tuesday evening. “And I think they gave us a lot of good leads today and I feel very comfortable moving forward with where we are at today.”
The congressman confirmed the White House claim that the attack was sparked by protest over a YouTube video “was a completely lie, and we always knew that.”
“But what I think, some important testimony came out today. So these gentlemen found out about this right around dusk. And they knew the ambassador was missing, and they were in Tripoli. So, and then you have this whole time, you’re talking about roughly 9 to 10:00 at night, until 5:00 in the morning,” he said. “And at that point, you know, essentially the attack was still ongoing.”
“Because they arrived at the time the mortars hit and killed two additional Americans that were not killed at the embassy compound earlier. So this is — there is just nothing there the administration is standing on anymore, as to what were they doing? How come nobody came to help? I think that was clear, nobody knew even at 5:30 that the attack was going to be over.”
Nunes said the timeline begs the question: “What if the attack had went on for another 24 hours?”
“Would they have eventually sent help then? I mean, there is no accountability in this process that I’ve seen so far. And nobody knows what the president knew and when he knew it,” he said.
The recent testimony, though, hasn’t shed any additional light about what President Obama was doing the night of the attack, as the people testifying Tuesday “are the guys that are on the ground that saved everybody’s life.”
“And they were radioing everything upstairs, they assumed that people knew, but they didn’t know — they were on the ground trying to save people’s lives,” Nunes said.

Harry Reid: Obamacare for Thee But Not For Me, Staunchest Supporter Exempts Staffers from Exchanges
[H/T CNN] — Washington (CNN) — Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, one of Obamacare’s architects and staunchest supporters, is also the only top congressional leader to exempt some of his staff from having to buy insurance through the law’s new exchanges.
Reid is the exception among the other top congressional leaders. GOP House Speaker John Boehner, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell have all directed their staffs to join the exchange, their aides said.
In the charged atmosphere surrounding Obamacare, Reid’s decision only gives Republicans more ammo to attack Democrats already suffering politically from the law’s botched rollout.
In September, Reid told reporters, “Let’s stop these really juvenile political games — the one dealing with health care for senators and House members and our staff. We are going to be part of exchanges, that’s what the law says and we’ll be part of that.”
But it’s also true that the law lets lawmakers decide if their committee and leadership staffers hold on to their federal employee insurance plans, an option Reid has exercised.
Reid spokesman Adam Jentleson emphasized, “We are just following the law.”
But Republicans are already taking aim.
“I’m sure that regular Americans who just lost their insurance will feel comforted to know that Senator Reid’s staff gets to keep their government plan,” a senior GOP Senate aide said.
Former Reid staffer Jim Manley defended his old boss, arguing that “the only people hypocritical here are Republicans, who made this an issue in the first place.”
And all four House and Senate leaders are required to relinquish their federal employee insurance plans next year and are choosing to enroll in the exchanges.
Judicial Watch Sues Obama Department of Health and Human Services to Obtain Early “Obamacare” Enrollment Records
[H/T Judicial Watch] (Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that on November 25, 2013, it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to obtain government records related to enrollment in the controversial Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act – also known as Obamacare (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (No. 1:13-cv-01855)).
The lawsuit was filed after HHS failed to respond to an October 7 Judicial Watch FOIA request seeking the following information: Any and all records concerning, regarding, or related to the number of individuals that purchased health insurance through healthcare.gov between October 1, 2013, and October 4, 2013.
The Healthcare.gov website, officially launched on the Tuesday, October 1, immediately encountered substantial problems typical of those reported by the Chicago Tribune:
Consumers seeking more information on their new options under the Affordable Care Act were met with long delays, error messages and a largely non-working federal insurance exchange and call center Tuesday morning.
Pressed for an explanation in a conference call with reporters that afternoon, Marilyn Tavenner, head of the HHS Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, refused to disclose the number of people who had purchased insurance through the site saying, “We have just decided not to release that yet.”
As the Obama administration finally began releasing its version of the enrollee numbers in November, a controversy ensued over the accuracy of the HHS figures. In an article entitled, “Who Counts as an Obamacare Enrollee – the Administration Settles on a Definition,” the Washington Post revealed that the Obama administration had abandoned the conventional definition of a health plan enrollee, apparently in an attempt to inflate its figures.
“Health insurance plans only count subscribers as enrolled in a health plan once they’ve submitted a payment,” the Postreported. “That is when the carrier sends out a member card and begins paying doctor bills. When the Obama administration releases health law enrollment figures later this week, though, it will use a more expansive definition. It will count people who have purchased a plan as well as those who have a plan sitting in their online shopping cart but have not yet paid.”
Significantly, the HHS figures did not break down enrollment numbers by age. The administration had announced that its goal is to sign up 2.7 million people between the ages of 18 and 35, in an apparent attempt to help offset the risk of insurance pools consisting primarily of older, more sickly people, who traditionally drive up health care coverage costs. According to the website, Governing.com, “Officials said demographic information will be included in future releases but didn’t specify when.”
Without the complete HHS records, therefore, it remains difficult to confirm the accuracy of both the Obamacare visitor and enrollment figures. Complete raw figures are necessary to fully determine such pertinent information as the cost of premiums, the amount of subsidies given to those enrolled, demographics of those enrolled, whether an individual’s enrollment was based on the mandate, and whether the number of enrollees is even a helpful statistic due to website glitches. Hence, the Judicial Watch October FOIA request and subsequent November 25 lawsuit.
“To be blunt, we think the Obama administration is telling more lies about these Obamacare enrollment numbers. And sure enough, the administration refuses to turn over one document to us about these basic numbers about the healthcare.gov website,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “The fact that we have to now go to federal court to get simple answers about how many people signed up for Obamacare shows that this administration has utter contempt for the people’s right to know.”

Report: U.S. is ‘Prepared’ to Let Iran Continue Enriching Uranium
[H/T Israel National News] — The White House is currently examining ways to enable Iran to have its own “domestic” uranium enrichment program, a senior Obama administration official has told the Washington Free Beacon.
According to Tuesday’s report, as the details of a six month interim nuclear deal between Iran and Western nations are hashed out, the White House is exploring the practicality of permitting Iran to continue certain enrichment activities.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has repeatedly stressedthat Iran will not give up on its right to enrich uranium, though he said at one point that Iran would not insist that others recognize this right.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has previously indicated that the issue of whether Iran will ultimately be allowed to enrich uranium will not be decided in the interim deal and would be worked out for the final deal.
“Over the next six months, we will explore, in practical terms, whether and how Iran might end up with a limited, tightly constrained, and intensively monitored civilian nuclear program, including domestic enrichment,” White House National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden told theWashington Free Beacon.
“Any such program,” she said, “would be subject to strict and verifiable curbs on its capacity and stockpiles of enriched uranium for a significant number of years and tied to practical energy needs that will remain minimal for years to come.”
The White House clarified its openness to a limited Iranian enrichment program just days after Iranian President Hassan Rouhani promised to “forge ahead” with the country’s controversial nuclear program.
Rouhani stated over the weekend that Iran’s contested enrichment program would “never stop” despite the regime’s promise to eventually halt most nuclear activities for a period of six months under an interim agreement inked two weeks ago in Geneva.
In fact, he also announced that Iran would be building a second nuclear power plant in Bushehr.
Iran’s right to enrich uranium, the key component in a nuclear bomb, had been a key sticking point in Geneva. Many in Congress say that Iran should be forced to dismantle its entire nuclear program and be prohibited from all enrichment activities.
Asked about Rouhani’s promise to continue enriching uranium, Hayden told the Free Beacon that “the United States does not recognize that Iran has a ‘right to enrich.’”
However, she said, “The Iranian people should have access to nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.”
Congressional critics have lambasted the White House in recent days for approving a deal that they say would allow the Iranians to continue their most controversial nuclear activities.
“Providing Iran with sanctions relief without dismantling their nuclear weapons program was a colossal mistake,” Rep. Peter Roskam (R., Ill.) told the Free Beacon on Tuesday.
“The Obama administration bargained away America’s greatest pressure point on Iran in exchange for empty promises and cosmetic concessions,” charged Roskam, who has led a push in the House to enact more stringent sanctions on Iran.
“It’s no surprise the Iranian regime is already taking a victory lap, proudly trumpeting its right to enrich uranium and maintain nuclear infrastructure under the agreement,” he said.
Others demanded that the White House explain why Iran can be trusted tocontinue its enrichment activities given the regime’s past efforts to deceive the world and obfuscate its weapons program
The Obama administration, meanwhile, has done everything in its power to dissuade lawmakers from passing new sanctions on Iran.
On Tuesday, the White House warned Congress that passing new sanctions, even with a delayed launch date, would give Iran an excuse to undermine the interim deal.
The administration has been pushing the senators to hold off on passing any new sanctions, sending top officials such as Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry to convince them not to follow through with the legislation.
President Barack Obama himself recently issued a public warning to Congress, saying that a deal in the works could prevent the “unintended consequences” of war.

John Guandolo, purveyor of Understanding the Threat appeared on the Lynn Woolley show (guest host Ben Barrack) and talked about the state of politicians in the U.S. today. Guandolo also discussed a claim he made last year that CIA Director John Brennan converted to Islam when he was a station chief in Saudi Arabia in the 1990′s.
Toward the end of the interview, Barrack asks Guandolo for his reaction to the recent news that Karl Rove’s Super PAC contributed $26 Million to Grover Norquist’s organization in 2012. It’s safe to say that Guandolo’s opinion of Norquist is not stellar.
