What Do You Suppose John McCain and George Soros Talked About Between Handshakes and Smiles?

(The Blaze) — There’s no telling what words were exchanged between U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and liberal financier George Soros at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

But you can have a look at some photos of Thursday’s tete-a-tete:

John McCain and Soros

What’s the connection between McCain and Soros?

According to The Huffington Post, in an article published during McCain’s 2008 presidential run, Soros funded the McCain’s Reform Institute, a nonpartisan 501c3 organization focused on promoting accountability and transparency in government, while the senator was still with the organization.

The Huffington Post article also referenced two Talking Points Memo reports: One indicated that Soros gave the Reform Institute $150,000; another said Soros’ Open Society Institute in 2002 gave $300,000 in grants to groups defending McCain’s campaign finance law against legal challenges to it.

Interestingly the Huffington Post article initially focuses on McCain’s campaign “aggressively” hitting back at news that Soros was taking part in a $40 million third-party effort to battle Republicans in the fall leading up to the elections.

BREAKING: John McCain Has Been Officially Censured by AZ GOP Citing Liberal Voting Record: WATCH Floor Vote Unfold

(Fox News) — The Arizona Republican Party formally censured Sen. John McCain on Saturday, citing a voting record they say is insufficiently conservative.

The resolution to censure McCain was approved by a voice-vote during a meeting of state committee members in Tempe, state party spokesman Tim Sifert said. It needed signatures from at least 20 percent of state committee members to reach the floor for debate.

Sifert said no further action was expected.

McCain spokesman Brian Rogers declined to comment on the censure.

McCain isn’t up for re-election until 2016, when will turn 80. He announced in October that he was considering running for a sixth term.

According to the resolution, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee has campaigned as a conservative but has lent his support to issues “associated with liberal Democrats,” such as immigration reform and to funding the law sometimes known as Obamacare.

Several Republican county committees recently censured McCain.

Timothy Schwartz, the Legislative District 30 Republican chairman who helped write the resolution, said the censure showed that McCain was losing support from his own party.

“We would gladly embrace Sen. McCain if he stood behind us and represented us,” Schwartz said.

Fred DuVal, a Democrat who plans to run for Arizona governor, called the censure an “outrageous response to the good work Sen. McCain did crafting a reasonable solution to fix our broken immigration system.”

McCain has been dogged by conservatives objecting to his views on immigration and campaign finance, among other issues, since he first ran for Congress in 1982. Republican activists were also turned off by his moderate stances in the 2000 presidential race.

McCain was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982 and won his Senate seat in 1986.

Glimmer of Hope: A Group of AZ Republicans Voting to Censure John McCain

A group of Arizona Republicans is set to vote this coming weekend on whether to censure Senator John McCain (R-AZ). The Maricopa County GOP’s frustration with the Senator stems from his “long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats.”

http://www.video.theblaze.com/shared/video/embed/embed.html?content_id=31293577&width=570&height=395&property=theblaze

“Yes, there is hope today,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “Try this out for size. [This is] going to be voted on by the Maricopa GOP leadership.”

Below is the full text of the censure resolution as published by IC Arizona:

Senator John McCain Censured by Arizona’s Republican Leadership

As leaders in the Republican Party, we are obligated to fully support our Party, platform, and its candidates. Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our Party’s values on his own. That has not happened. So with sadness and humility we rise and declare:

Whereas Senator McCain has amassed a long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats, such as Amnesty, funding for ObamaCare, the debt ceiling, assaults on the Constitution and 2nd amendment, and has continued to support liberal nominees;

Whereas this record has been disastrous and harmful to Arizona and the United States; and,

Whereas Senator McCain has campaigned as a conservative and made promises during his re-election campaigns, such as the needed and welcomed promise to secure our borders and finish the border fence, only to quickly flip-flop on those promises; and

Whereas McCain has abandoned our core values and has been eerily silent against Liberals, yet publicly reprimands Conservatives in his own Party, therefore

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Maricopa County Republican leadership censures Senator McCain for his continued disservice to our State and Nation, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that until he consistently champions our Party’s Platform and values, we, the Republican leadership in Arizona will no longer support, campaign for or endorse John McCain as our U.S. Senator.

“Wouldn’t that be nice if that would pass,” Glenn asked. “That is what needs to be done, I think, on all of them.”

Leader of John McCain’s ‘Freedom Fighters’ Flees Syria, Muslim Fundamentalists Have Apparently Taken Over

If you remember the photos taken of Senator John McCain posing with terrorists when he visited Syria earlier this year, you might remember the name Salim Idris. He was one of the men McCain posed with. Idris is the leader of the ‘moderate’ Syrian rebels whom the Senator insisted the U.S. help because Idris was leading the ‘freedom fighters’ in the fight against the Assad regime.

McCain and Salim Idris

Well, Idris has fled Syria and the Muslim fundamentalists have apparently taken over.

Via WSJ:

Islamist fighters ran the top Western-backed rebel commander in Syria out of his headquarters, and he fled the country, U.S. officials said Wednesday.

The Islamists also took over key warehouses holding U.S. military gear for moderate fighters in northern Syria over the weekend. The takeover and flight of Gen. Salim Idris of the Free Syrian Army shocked the U.S., which along with Britain immediately froze delivery of nonlethal military aid to rebels in northern Syria.

Perhaps one of the most absurd examples of political denial on the part of the west is the notion that there are ‘moderate’ rebels at all, especially in light of the doubling down that is apparently taking place in the wake of Idris’s exodus. The U.S. is attempting to identify the most moderate extremists:

The Islamic Front is a recently formed alliance of the largest Islamist rebel groups that excludes the two main al Qaeda-linked rebel groups—the Nusra Front and the Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham—and is considered the more moderate faction among Islamist rebel groups.

The ‘more moderate faction’ among Islamists?! That is precisely the dynamic that led the U.S. State Department to put the February 17 Martyrs Brigade in charge of security against Ansar Al-Sharia at the Special Mission Compound in Benghazi. The result was that F17MB – who deserted that compound – provided intelligence to the attackers who knew every inch of that compound.

A bit later in the WSJ article is this gem:

U.S. officials said the Islamic Front offered to help protect the headquarters and two warehouse facilities from harder line groups. Then, when the Islamic Front came in and helped secure the sites, “they asserted themselves and said: ‘All right, we’re taking over,’ ” a senior U.S. official said.

Those two paragraphs from the WSJ article – possibly better than any assemblage of sentences before them – demonstrate perfectly, why the rise of fundamentalist Islam across the globe is seeing success. The west so refuses to admit who its enemies actually are that it’s willing to parse groups that all seek the same goal – an Islamic caliphate under the Muslim Brotherhood umbrella.

In this latest incarnation of good cop / bad cop, the ‘good’ cop has left the room. Having no other option, the guy being interrogated magically sees the ‘bad’ cop as two people, one of whom is better than the other.

There’s a word for that – schizophrenia. It’s also two primary psychological defense mechanisms wrapped into one – denial and projection. In the case of the aforementioned metaphor, the subject is not only denying who the bad cop is but is projecting multiple personality disorder onto the bad cop in order to reach that absurd level of denial.

To further the aside, here’s what Web MD has to say about Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder):

The dissociative aspect is thought to be a coping mechanism — the person literally dissociates himself from a situation or experience that’s too violent, traumatic, or painful to assimilate with his conscious self.

Think of all of the extremely unspeakably heinous acts that have taken place in Syria, from children beheading adults to adults engaging in cannibalism; some are even contracting a disease that can only be contracted by eating human brains. Western leaders simply do not want to face these kinds of realities (Obama and his most loyal acolytes notwithstanding).

In a more pragmatic sense, the behavior of western leaders demonstrates that the loyalties of Idris have been accepted far too easily as well. Take a look at where he went:

Gen. Idris flew to the Qatari capital of Doha on Sunday after fleeing to Turkey, U.S. officials said Wednesday. “He fled as a result of the Islamic Front taking over his headquarters,” a senior U.S. official said.

An Islamic Front spokesman also said Gen. Idris had fled to Turkey.

Turkey and Qatar are two incredibly Muslim Brotherhood-friendly countries. The former’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan seeks a return of the Ottoman Empire, via the Muslim Brotherhood and the latter – among other things – provided safe haven for several of Egypt’s Brotherhood leadership after the ouster of Mohammed Mursi.

Why would these countries help Idris, a supposed ‘moderate’ who is attempting to eliminate forces supported by those countries? Shouldn’t he be persona non grata if he were truly who he is portrayed to be? He’s someone who was supposedly making things difficult for the extremists, right?

Perhaps Idris was just playing a role, eh? Perhaps he was just wearing the ‘moderate’ label to make it easier for rebels to get U.S. weapons. Under that scenario, he would indeed be welcomed by Turkey and Qatar.

Don’t worry, though. McCain knows who these people are:

[H/T Walid Shoebat]

U.S. to Train Libyan Military, Including Islamic Terrorists That Want to Kill Americans?

The U.S. Military are reportedly ready to begin training the enemy.  Well indirectly anyway.  That’s right, Islamic terrorists will likely be on the receiving end of our tax dollars, all funneled in to train Libyan Rebels.  The same rebels that are John McCain’s ‘heroes’ (see video below).

[H/T Walid Shoebat]: The U.S. Military will reportedly begin training Senator John McCain’s “heroes” (see video above) in Libya despite knowing that terrorists will likely be on the receiving end of such training. The Libyans will be the beneficiaries of both conventional and Special Ops training. The Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have reportedly been apprised and are ok with it.

The Washington Free Beacon’s Bill Gertz quotes Admiral William McRaven of U.S. Special Ops Command as saying the following during a recent panel discussion:

“We are going to have to assume some risks,” McRaven said. “Right now we have the authorities to do that training, and I think as a country we have to say there is probably some risk that some of the people we will be training with do not have the most clean records, but at the end of the day it is the best solution we can find to train them to deal with their own problems.” {emphasis ours}

Training terrorists is the best solution?

It was learned this past July and further confirmed last week that the attackers in Benghazi who killed four Americans were highly organized, coordinated, and well trained. In fact, a man suspected of possibly leading the attack – Tarek Taha Abu Al-Azm – received military training in the U.S. according to multiple Arabic sources.

Evidence also suggests that Al-Azm was the real leader of the Jamal Network, named after its founder Muhammad Jamal Abdo Al-Kashif. Both Al-Azm and Al-Kashif are currently sitting in Egyptian jails as best we can determine.

Last month, the U.N. Security Council named Al-Kashif and the Jamal Network as suspects in the Benghazi attack. The U.S. State Department went so far as to identify the group and its leaders as terrorists. These designations necessarily implicate Al-Azm, about whom very little is written.

As Gertz points out in his report, if the U.S. is training terrorists in Libya, there’s a possibility they’ll be going to fight elsewhere:

Intelligence reports from earlier this year said some of the Islamists are engaged intraining jihadists fighters who are then dispatched to Syria to join Islamist rebelsthere fighting the regime of Syrian President Bashir Assad.

The four-star admiral said the risks have been explained to senior leaders, including Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey, and the regional combatant commanders. {emphasis ours}

In addition to the Benghazi attackers being well organized, they also knew intricate details about the compound. Much of this very well may be attributable to the State Department’s reliance on the February 17 Martyrs Brigade (F17) to provide security. That group flies the al-Qaeda flag on its Facebook page. There is also a significant cross-pollination of leadership between F17 and Ansar Al-Sharia.

Speaking of Ansar Al-Sharia, Gertz writes:

The group, Ansar al Sharia, continues to operate openly, despite promises by President Barack Obama to bring those who carried out the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks to justice.

Additionally, Ansar al Sharia has grown more belligerent in recent months, apparently abandoning propaganda efforts to rebrand itself as a nonviolent militia.

More than a year after the Benghazi attacks, no one has yet been brought to justice for those attacks, the groups who carried them out are still operating, one of the lead suspects in the attacks was an Egyptian officer who was trained by the U.S. Military (al-Azm), and our Military is being directed to train more of them in conventional and special ops.

Oh, and our Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are signing off on it all.

John McCain: Performs Stunning Flip-Flop on Obamacare, After Bashing Cruz and Lee to Defund, He’s Now Onboard for a ‘Total Repeal’

[W/T The Blaze]: After repeatedly criticizing senators such as Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) over their crusade to defund Obamacare, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) called for the “total repeal” of the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday. It’s a quick turnaround after the longtime senator, in September, proclaimed that it was “not rational” to think Obamacare could be defunded or repealed.

In this photo provided by CBS News, on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., speaks on CBS’ “Face the Nation” in Washington about the partial federal government shutdown. AP

McCain outlined his “solution” during an interview with Greta Van Susteren, which culminated in an admission that the law should be repealed completely.

“The solution is, first of all, to let people keep their insurance if they want to,” he said. “Or at least reinstate them.”

He continued: “Second of all, let the insurance companies give a menu of whatever they want to provide. Third of all, medical savings account. Fourth of all, medical malpractice reform. Let people go across state lines to, in order to, if they can get a better insurance policy in another state. And remove this whole tax incentive for employers to provide employees health insurance.”

“That is repeal,” Van Susteren said, pointing out the obvious.

“That’s exactly right,” McCain replied. “That is total repeal in every other way. Because what Obamacare is, is an experiment in social engineering — in other words, making healthy people pay more…in order to subsidize the health care for people that are older and unhealthy. That is the ultimate in social engineering.”

FLASHBACK:

McCain: Hires Elizabeth O’Bagy as “Legislative Assistant,” A Staunch Supporter of Syrian Rebels and Muslim Brotherhood

McCain Hires Syrian Rebel Sympathizer

It is becoming increasingly obvious that John McCain albeit may be considered a war-time hero, is far from a American hero in the political arena.  McCain’s latest antics, collaborating with the likes of Lindsey Graham and yes, our own president makes him suspect at best.  Once the dust settles, and the truth prevails, we will see the money falling out of McCain’s pockets.

Walid Shoebat reported: Senator John McCain (RINO-AZ) was disgraced when he posed with Syrian kidnappers on a trip arranged by Elizabeth O’Bagy. He was further disgraced on September 3rd, when he referred to her as “Dr. O’Bagy” while citing her work at a Senate hearing. In the days that followed, O’Bagy was fired from her post at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) because she didn’t hold a doctorate. Some days after that, O’Bagy was unceremoniously jettisoned from the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF) Executive Board after two other Board members had suffered the same fate.

So what does McCain do? He hires O’Bagy as a “Legislative Assistant”.

Via Foreign Policy (h/t Daily Caller):

Sen. John McCain has hired Elizabeth O’Bagy, the Syria analyst in Washington who was fired for padding her credentials, The Cable has learned. She begins work Monday as a legislative assistant in McCain’s office.

O’Bagy was a young but well-respected advisor at the Institute for the Study of War and had emerged quickly as an important voice among those arguing in favor of intervention in Syria. McCain and others had cited her work publicly before her nascent reputation collapsed when it was discovered that her claims to having a combined master’s/Ph.D. were false and that in fact she had not yet defended her thesis.

“Elizabeth is a talented researcher, and I have been very impressed by her knowledge and analysis in multiple briefings over the last year,” McCain told The Cable in a statement. “I look forward to her joining my office.” McCain’s office said there would be no further comment on the matter. {emphasis ours}

Is McCain looking to retain O’Bagy because of her ability to research or because he needs her as a political defense attorney? The more McCain doubles down on his support for the Muslim Brotherhood, the more he entraps himself.

O’Bagy’s misrepresentation is not her biggest problem. Her most glaring problem is her support for the Syrian rebels, which have actually called for an Islamic caliphate (at least the increasingly prominent Al-Nusra has). Indications are that the other organization she worked for – the Syrian Emergency TaskElizabeth OBagy Force (SETF) – smelled trouble when McCain shone the spotlight on her.

On September 3rd, McCain cited O’Bagy at the Senate hearing. Soon thereafter, SETF jettisoned the first of its four Board members – Ahmad Soliman. Soliman’s connections to Muslim Brotherhood groups in America (Muslim Students Association and Islamic Society of North America) are irrefutable.

A couple of days later, the SETF lost its second Board member – Cassie Chesley. Again, there was no public announcement; she was just quietly removed from the website.

That left O’Bagy and SETF’s Executive Director Mouaz Moustafa, who accompanied McCain and O’Bagy on the trip to Syria in May. Then… O’Bagy was quietly removed from SETF’s website a few days later.

Of course, we also have the issue of O’Bagy’s possible commission of perjury.

McCain would have the public believe that despite O’Bagy’s inflated bio, she’s still an impeccable researcher who is fighting for the persecuted rebels of Syria. What McCain won’t tell you is that he’s digging himself a deeper hole by hiring her as defense counsel a legislative assistant.

The SETF wreaks of Muslim Brotherhood. By hiring O’Bagy after her role with this organization and its Board members (Moustafa and Soliman in particular), McCain is only throwing his lot more behind the enemy of his country.

Please watch McCain very, very carefully. If the republic survives, he may share a fate similar to Benedict Arnold. When the truth finally comes out, so too will the money from McCain’s pockets, which likely came from America’s enemies.

Cruzade: Defunding Effort Nearing 30 Votes in Senate

John McCainBreitbart reported: According to sources on the Hill, there is growing support among Senate Republicans to support Sens. Cruz and Lee’s efforts to scuttle Sen. Harry Reid’s attempt to reinstate ObamaCare funding in the House Continuing Resolution. On Friday, the Senate is set to vote for cloture on the CR, which, if successful, will then allow Reid to resurrect ObamaCare funding with a simple majority. The effort by Cruz and Lee will most likely fail, but each additional GOP Senator that joins their block is another vote against Senate GOP Leadership.

This is not the place to unpack the confused and convoluted Senate rules. On Friday, the Senate will vote to end debate on the House CR that defunds ObamaCare. After that vote, the Senate will consider amendments to the bill and vote for final passage, all of which requires 51 votes. Ordinarily, the cloture vote would come after all amendments have been considered. The early cloture vote allows Reid to amend the bill and move to final passage on a partisan vote.

Technically, a vote for cloture on Friday would move the House CR forward to the point that Sen. Reid can reinstate ObamaCare funding. Were he to lose the cloture vote, he would have no ability to do this. Sens. Cruz, Lee and their allies have drawn a line in the sand and will vote against cloture, i.e. they will not vote to move the bill to where Reid can reinstate ObamaCare.

The Senate GOP Leadership is against the Cruz and Lee move. Sens. Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn, the top 2 GOP leaders in the Senate, are actively urging Senators to vote against Cruz and Lee and support cloture on the CR. In other words, they want to move the bill further in the process, which they know will allow Reid to restore ObamaCare funding.

According to Hill sources, over 20 GOP Senators are set to buck Leadership on Friday and reject this procedural game, by voting against cloture. By some accounts, up to 30 Senators could vote against GOP Leadership, which would represent an existential crisis within the caucus. McConnell and Cornyn have publicly put their reputations on the line. If more than half the caucus votes against them, the center of power within the Senate Republicans will have shifted.

There are many, including this author, who questioned the strategy of Cruz and Lee. There are others in the GOP establishment who openly mocked them and joined in a media assault against them. It was certainly true that had almost no chance to prevail. What they were able to do, however, was focus the country’s attention on ObamaCare for the past several weeks and, with Ted Cruz’s pseudo-filibuster, provide a klieg light on the failings of ObamaCare, just as the public was starting to pay attention.

General Ulysses S. Grant lost his first battle after being given command over all the Union forces. Rather than taking the lead of his predecessors and retreating, he gave a very famous order, “march to the left.” In other words, we’re not retreating, we’re not retiring, we are going to engage the enemy across the entire line.

Grant went on to lose several individual engagements while ultimately winning the war. Simply because he never retreated.

Cruz and Lee will lose the vote tomorrow. The roll call of the vote, however, will tell us who is with us in this fight. If they vote for cloture now, after the debate and the battle has been framed, then they are no better than fair-weather warriors.

Do not take this wrong politically, but we must “march to the left.”

Ted Cruz: Conservatives Were Embarrassed to Vote for McCain in 2008′

Ted CruzWestern Journalism reported: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) took a veiled swipe at Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in a GQ profile released Monday, saying he was “embarrassed” to have voted Republican in 2008.
“I don’t know a conservative who didn’t feel embarrassed voting in 2006 or 2008,” Cruz said. “I think the Republican Party lost its way. We didn’t stand for the principles we’re supposed to believe in.”

McCain was the Republican presidential candidate in 2008. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who endorsed Cruz in his 2012 Senate campaign, was McCain’s running mate.

McCain and Cruz have been locking horns since the combative Texas Republican first arrived in the Senate. The two have been openly critical of one another on a range of issues, including drone strikes, foreign policy and the nomination of Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

Clintons: Employee Tied to Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Shater, and Arrested for Inciting Violence, What is Going on Here?

Walid Shoebat is former Muslim Brotherhood and terrorist, now peace activist and Christian. Whoa, I know, that’s quite a turnaround. However, his insight is like no other, at least from an American perspective.

We will be citing some of his content when applicable here on Conservative Angle.  I encourage you to read his blog and make your own assessment.

Walid Shoebat reported: When Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns went to Egypt last month, along with Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC), there was one imprisoned Muslim Brotherhood leader Burns seemed to take most interest in. That prisoner was Khairat al-Shater. The meeting between the two men was quite secretive but lasted approximately 90 minutes, despite attempts by al-Shater’s people to say it only lasted 10 minutes.

Khairat al-Sahter, Muslim Brotherhood's Deputy in Egypt (Chief of Staff a Clinton Employee)

Khairat al-Sahter, Muslim Brotherhood’s Deputy in Egypt (Chief of Staff a Clinton Employee)

In fact, the guy who lied about the duration of that meeting – Gehad el-Haddad – was an employee of the Clintons who has since been arrested by the Egyptian government, for inciting violence.

Here is an excerpt from an ABC News report about that meeting between Burns and al-Shater:

The Brotherhood had strongly denied the meeting took place, an apparent attempt to keep any mediation efforts under wraps. Publicly, the group says it is not negotiating and will end its protests if Mohamed Mosi is reinstated as president.

After ABC News initially posted news of the meeting on Twitter, a Brotherhood spokesman called an ABC News reporter and acknowledged that el-Shater met Burns, but called it a “swift exchange” that lasted only 10 minutes.

“It was not a real meeting,” Gehad el-Haddad told ABC News. {emphasis ours}

Could el-Haddad’s connection to his former boss explain any of Burns’ intense interest in al-Shater?

Check out what the Egypt Independent had to say about el-Haddad’s dual role with both the Brotherhood and the Clintons shortly after Mohammed Mursi was elected president of Egypt last year:

Three weeks ago, Gehad El Haddad divided his time between volunteering for the Muslim Brotherhood and heading the Cairo office of the Clinton Climate Initiative, a nongovernmental organization set up by the former American president.

Mixing practical goals with Islamic values has defined the 30-year-old’s life to date. Once a creative entrepreneur, he is now putting all his efforts into the Brotherhood’s Renaissance Project. {emphasis ours}

Gehad El-Haddad: Al-Shater's Chief of Staff and Clintons' employee.

Gehad El-Haddad: Al-Shater’s Chief of Staff and Clintons’ employee.

(Perhaps we’re getting a bit closer to another reason Hillary so supported the Brotherhood in Egypt after Mursi’s victory.)

A short time later, the Independent reported something else about el-Haddad:

He is one of five members of the project’s steering committee, which is chaired by Khairat al-Shater, a wealthy businessman and influential Brotherhood member. His offices are directly beneath Shater’s in Nasr City. {emphasis ours}

El-Haddad’s offices were “directly beneath al-Shater’s”? As to why that might be, the Middle East Monitor may answer that question:

El-Haddad, who has been the main contact between the international media and the Brotherhood, was the chief of staff to Khairat El-Shater; his father, Essam El-Haddad, was an aide to ousted President Mohamed Morsi. He has been charged with inciting the killing of protestors. {emphasis ours}

Now that there is an el-Haddad / Mursi connection, it’s worth noting that EXHIBIT H of our “Ironclad” report is an excerpt from a speech Mursi gave at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) on September 25, 2012. In this clip, Mursi called for restrictions on freedom of speech when it comes to Islam:

As for the importance of the elder al-Shater to the Obama administration, consider this excerpt from a Fox News report about why the Saad al-Shater (Khairat’s son) was arrested late last month:

It was not immediately clear why police detained el-Shater’s 23-year-old son. Officials only said Wednesday that police had arrested Saad el-Shater and that he had threatened to release documents allegedly showing ties between his father and U.S. President Barack Obama. Officials did not elaborate.

It would seem this charge is becoming less of a leap the more events in Egypt unfold.

**UPDATE on September 18, 2013, at 10:12pm EST**
This may be an opening to a very explosive development. Consider Addendum G of our “Ironclad” report. It involves the charges made by prominent Egyptian television host Ahmed Moussa, who claimed in July of this year that the passport of one of Christopher Stevens’ assassins was found in the home of Khairat al-Shater. If this is borne out, the Clintons’ relationship to al-Shater’s Chief of Staff (el-Haddad) would instantly become more relevant.

Note: This post was updated slightly on 9/19 to include the ABC News excerpt about el-Haddad’s meeting with Burns.
