Trump: ‘I Would Build a Border Fence Like You Have Never Seen Before’

(Breitbart) – Donald Trump, speaking to a gathering of conservative Americans at the New Hampshire Freedom Summit, said that “not only is Obamacare a disaster, it is the single greatest lie that I have ever witnessed, and I have been watching politics for a long time.”

Trump’s speech was upbeat and direct, and he didn’t miss an opportunity to criticize the President or his Cabinet. Trump thought that Kathleen Sebelius’s admitting that, “I am missing a sheet of paper” in her “stepping-down speech” as the Chief Obamacare Official on Friday will go down as one of the most memorable lines in the history of politics. The mishap is “emblematic of Obamacare,” he told the guests at the inaugural event sponsored by Citizens United and Americans for Prosperiety, and highlighted by speeches from Trump, as well as Senators Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Mike Lee.

Trump perceptively used the botched speech as an example of media bias as well. He explained that if a Republican had delivered that speech after the series of gross errors and blatant incompetence that characterized Obamacare, they would have been ridiculed and made a fool. But for Sebelius to do it, the media just looks on it as a “cute” incident.

On the topic of the military, Trump said that Obama has stripped the armed forces to levels that we haven’t seen in many, many decades. According to Trump, Obama doesn’t understand that the more you decimate your military and make it weak, the more apt you are to have to use it. On the other hand, the stronger you can make your military, the more likely you will be feared and, therefore, countries will be less likely to violate your rules.

The real estate mogul contends that America should be the “energy capital of the world.” Trump exclaimed, “I’m all for the Keystone pipeline, I love it, it should happen. But, we don’t even need it. We don’t need Canada’s oil.” Trump says we have it all here and we don’t have to go anywhere for it or import it.

As far as immigration is concerned, Trump boasted that he is a builder and that he likes to build things. He said that, if he was in charge of America, “I would build a border fence like you have never seen before.”

Trump to GOP: Illegal Immigrants Won’t Vote for You ‘No Matter How Nice You Are’

(Breitbart) – Speaking at CPAC on Thursday, Donald Trump said that illegal immigrants, whom Democrats and House GOP leaders want to legalize, will simply not vote for Republicans.

He blasted those who want open borders, saying, “We’re either a country or we’re not. We either have borders or we don’t.”

“You have a border. You have a country,” Trump said before emphatically declaring that we’re just “a nothing” without borders.

If conservatives and Republicans legalize illegal immigrants and allow more to come into the country, Trump said, “I don’t care who stands up, you won’t get one vote.”

“Of those 11 million potential voters, you will not get any of those votes–no matter what you do, no matter how nice you are, no matter how soft you are, no matter how many times you say, ‘Rip down that fence and let them all in,'” Trump said.

He said that illegal immigrants are “taking your jobs, and you better be careful” about pushing amnesty legislation.

Exclusive — Palin Calls for Boycott After Buzzfeed Hit Piece on Trump

(Breitbart) — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has a message for Donald Trump about BuzzFeed blogger McKay Coppins, and it’s one that other Republican officials might heed when liberal journalists come looking to “humanize” them.

“This nervous geek isn’t fit to tie the Donald’s wingtips,” Palin told Breitbart News after Trump ripped Coppins for lampooning him with what he alleged were out-of-context quotes and boorish behavior at Trump’s Florida resort. “Don’t ever give him attention again.”

Coppins tricked Trump’s advisers into thinking he would profile Trump as a potential “major” GOP 2016 presidential hopeful. As Breitbart News reported, the Jan. 5 email from Coppins to now former-Trump aide Sam Nunberg read:

“I’ve already done big profiles of all the major 2016 GOP players, including substantial sit-down interviews with Rand Paul and Scott Walker, and features on Ryan, Rubio, Cruz, etc,” Coppins told Nunberg, adding that choosing BuzzFeed for the profile would “show that he’s ahead of the curve and understands the new media landscape.”

His access secure, Coppins attended Trump’s speech at New Hampshire’s famed “Politics and Eggs” breakfast, which has hosted nearly every major presidential candidate. The resulting piece, “36 Hours on the Fake Campaign Trail with Donald Trump,” was one of the most venomous hit pieces in recent memory. Coppins trashed Trump as a joke, with all the preconceived notions, snark, backhanded compliments, innuendo, and mockery that those like MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, a notorious Trump hater, and Coppins’ editor, Ben Smith, have been throwing around for years.

Evidence suggests that Trump gave Coppins the benefit of the doubt when he should have expected the worst. The supposedly “objective” Coppins was caught on a hot mic trashing Mitt Romney during the 2012 presidential election. As Breitbart’s John Nolte wrote then:

This is yet one more example of just how childish and unprofessional these partisans disguised as “objective” reporters are — and it gives you a hint of what Romney’s been up against throughout this entire campaign. Not just from the likes of BuzzFeed, and they’re bad enough, but from a media atmosphere so stacked against Romney and in favor of Obama that anyone pretending to be an “objective” journalist can feel comfortable popping off like this.

It’s also a look at how comfortable these elitist jerks are behaving this way amongst themselves when they think no one is listening. I have no issues with reporters joking around, but it’s no coincidence that you never ever hear this kind of thing coming from the “objective” media about President Obama.

In addition, Coppins’ editor is the infamous Ben Smith, whose arsenal of clever tactics to protect and shield liberals spawned the term “BenSmithing, which now has an entry in UrbanDictionary.com. Smith has reveled in mocking Trump, and Trump’s camp has admitted that they underestimated him.

If anything, the treatment BuzzFeed gave Trump should be a warning for GOP politicians, especially those with 2016 aspirations, to never let their guard down.

This is something Palin knows all too well. In 2008, she was the running mate for a candidate who once boasted that the mainstream media was his “base.” But just as soon as John McCain secured the GOP nomination, the mainstream press savagely turned on him. They asked him questions on his “Straight Talk Express” bus about things like viagra and birth control in a seeming effort to make him look old, cranky, and out of touch against the “exciting” Barack Obama, whom the press neither vetted nor criticized as they drooled over his “historical” candidacy.

But even that paled in comparison to how they vilified Palin, the “Caribou Barbie,” during and after the campaign. The low point may have occurred when Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ) was shot in 2011: CNN, which by its own account did not have any evidence whatsoever, suggested Palin’s political rhetoric may have been a cause of the attempted murder.

Palin has said she does not need to cooperate with outlets and reporters from the “lamestream” press that have a track record of biases and distortions. And because the mainstream media do not have as big a monopoly as they once had on the news cycle, candidates–especially those who already have plenty of name-recognition–do not need the mainstream press like they did even two presidential election cycles ago.

Trump, Nunberg and Bianka Pop, a Trump resort employee, alleged that Coppins ogled other women in a way that made them feel uncomfortable.

“There were two beautiful girls walking around Mar-a-Lago,” Trump told Breitbart News’ Matthew Boyle in a phone interview. “He said to me, ‘Boy, I wish my wife looked like that’ while he was gawking at them. Unbelievable. What a scumbag.”

The Coppins Trump profile has prompted some Republicans to send out warnings about interacting with the BuzzFeed scribe. But often, the allure of liberal respectability is too much for GOP politicians and their advisers to resist, prompting them to provide extraordinary access to journalists who have left a trail of carnage in their wake.

That has been and will be a recipe for disaster. Ask Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), another potential 2016 presidential candidate, who has already been burned twice–by BuzzFeed and, before that, GQ. Ask Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) about his time with New Yorker scribe Ryan Lizza. Ask Rand Paul about his New Republic cover shoot.

The game is not on the level. Mainstream press often treats conservatives like the stepchildren they never wanted. When “profiling” conservatives, many reporters seem to be looking for things to dislike, mock, and discredit. The faults of liberals, if they are covered, are softened. President Barack Obama can make up composite characters from his past, while nobody knows if Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) has a friend named “T-Bone.” Elizabeth Warren insists that she is Native American, and Wendy Davis’s bio is full of holes. But the press treat their liberal darlings like their favorite children, always giving them the benefit of the doubt and merely slapping them on the wrist for even the most egregious offenses and mistakes.

Candidates vying for the GOP nomination in 2016 will be flattered and swarmed by pesky liberals like Coppins, who are all to eager to shiv GOP candidates before the general election. Coppins even has a book deal with Little Brown about the Republican Party; it’s due out in 2015.

That’s a game Palin is refusing to play. Palin’s message to Trump after the BuzzFeed snark-job was directed at Coppins, but it is worth repeating because it applies just as well to all mainstream media and left-of-center reporters who either view conservatives as the enemy or exotic species in a remote rain forest: “Don’t ever give him attention again.”

Exclusive–Trump: Select Committee Needed to Investigate Benghazi Scandal

Real estate magnate, television star, and conservative provocateur Donald Trump called on Speaker John Boehner to install a select committee to investigate the Benghazi scandal in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Tuesday morning.

“I think that’s good,” Trump said when asked if he thought there should be a select committee to investigate Benghazi. “It’s a good thing. It should be investigated. It was a catastrophic event. Certainly, they should get to the bottom of it.”

Trump is the latest political leader to call for a select committee to investigate Benghazi. In the House, 181 members – more than three quarters of the House GOP conference – have formally signed on to the push led by Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA). Moreover, several members of the families of Benghazi victims recently called for a select committee in a letter to Boehner first reported by Breitbart News.

Proponents of a select committee say it would help organize five separate investigations into one effort, giving the investigation a more unified approach.

Boehner has resisted the push for a select committee, arguing the work of the separate congressional committees investigating the matter is sufficient. “The reason I haven’t called for a select committee yet is that I don’t think it’s risen to that level,” Boehner told Fox News in April of 2013. “I think the five committees that have jurisdiction over this matter are working closely together. They’re getting the job done.”

A spokesman for Boehner did not respond to a request for comment about Trump’s remarks.

Trump spoke to Breitbart from New Hampshire where he had just spoken to a crowd of about 300 at Saint Anselm College’s “Politics and Eggs” event, though he said the visit was “not at all” connected with the state’s role in presidential politics.

He also put to bed rumors that he may run for governor of New York against incumbent Democrat Andrew Cuomo. The Republican party in New York is “extremely weak and has no idea how to win,” Trump said in explaining his reticence.

As a party, Trump said Republicans should spend 2014 focused on Obamacare. “Obamacare is going to lead to a tremendous Republican victory in November. It’s a catastrophe waiting to happen.”

“People are losing their doctors. They’re losing their plans, and when they get a plan, they’re paying much more money for it and it’s not nearly as good,” he continued. “These were all false statements he made – you keep your plan, you keep your doctor. So, Obamacare is going to be the big thing on the menu.”

Trump also dismissed conventional wisdom about the Tea Party losing power and influence. “I think that the Tea Party is doing absolutely fine,” Trump said. “They are tremendous people who want what’s good for the country. They have a great love of the United States and they want it to be taken care of. People should not underestimate the Tea Party. It would be a big mistake for them to do so.”
