Breaking: Sen. Harry Reid Behind BLM Land Grab of Bundy Ranch

(InfoWars) – BLM attempted cover-up of Sen. Reid/Chinese government takeover of ranch for solar farm.

The Bureau of Land Management, whose director was Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) former senior adviser, has purged documents from its web site stating that the agency wants Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s cattle off of the land his family has worked for over 140 years in order to make way for solar panel power stations.

The first segment of the document pulled by the feds from BLM.gov.

Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for posterity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts” directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts” solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities” on “public lands.”

“Non-Governmental Organizations have expressed concern that the regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone utilizes Gold Butte as the location for offsite mitigation for impacts from solar development, and that those restoration activities are not durable with the presence of trespass cattle,” the document states.

The second segment of the document pulled by the feds from BLM.gov.

Another BLM report entitled Regional Mitigation Strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone (BLM Technical Note 444) reveals that Bundy’s land in question is within the “Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone and surrounding area” which is part of a broad U.S. Department of Energy program for “Solar Energy Development in Six Southwestern States” on land “managed” by BLM.

“In 2012, the BLM and the U.S. Department of Energy published the Final Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for Solar Energy Development in Six Southwestern States,” the report reads. “The Final Solar Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement assessed the impact of utility-scale solar energy development on public lands in the six southwestern states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah.”

“The Approved Resource Management Plan Amendments/Record of Decision (ROD) for Solar Energy Development in Six Southwestern States implemented a comprehensive solar energy program for public lands in those states and incorporated land use allocations and programmatic and SEZ-specific design features into land use plans in the six-state study area.”

Back in 2012, the New American reported that Harry Reid’s son, Rory Reid, was the chief representative for a Chinese energy firm planning to build a $5-billion solar plant on public land in Laughlin, Nevada.

And journalist Marcus Stern with Reuters also reported that Sen. Reid was heavily involved in the deal as well.

“[Reid] and his oldest son, Rory, are both involved in an effort by a Chinese energy giant, ENN Energy Group, to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel manufacturing plant in the southern Nevada desert,” he wrote. “Reid has been one of the project’s most prominent advocates, helping recruit the company during a 2011 trip to China and applying his political muscle on behalf of the project in Nevada.”

“His son, a lawyer with a prominent Las Vegas firm that is representing ENN, helped it locate a 9,000-acre (3,600-hectare) desert site that it is buying well below appraised value from Clark County, where Rory Reid formerly chaired the county commission.”

Although these reports are in plain view, the mainstream media has so far ignored this link.

The BLM’s official reason for encircling the Bundy family with sniper teams and helicopters was to protect the endangered desert tortoise, which the agency has previously been killing in mass due to “budget constraints.”

“A tortoise isn’t the reason why BLM is harassing a 67 year-old rancher; they want his land,” journalist Dana Loesch wrote. “The tortoise wasn’t of concern when [U.S. Senator] Harry Reid worked with BLM to literally change the boundaries of the tortoise’s habitat to accommodate the development of his top donor, Harvey Whittemore.”

“Reid is accused of using the new BLM chief as a puppet to control Nevada land (already over 84% of which is owned by the federal government) and pay back special interests,” she added. “BLM has proven that they’ve a situational concern for the desert tortoise as they’ve had no problem waiving their rules concerning wind or solar power development. Clearly these developments have vastly affected a tortoise habitat more than a century-old, quasi-homesteading grazing area.”

“If only Cliven Bundy were a big Reid donor.”

Sebelius’ resignation too late to salvage Democrats’ midterm hopes

(Allen B. West) – The resignation of beleaguered Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is no surprise. It’s a highly political move reminiscent of one taken by Obama’s predecessor, President George W. Bush. Obama has the unpopular domestic issue of his “signature” policy, Obamacare. Bush had the unpopular Iraq War. The focal points in both cases were eventually viewed as politically toxic — for Bush it was Rumsfeld and for Obama it is Sebelius.

In both cases the two respective secretaries became a political “whipping boy/girl” for the opposing party. In both instances there were calls for resignations and firing. However, when the resignations came, they were politically too late.

In 2006, the Democrats ran against the Iraq War and won the House and Senate — we’re still paying for that. Now in 2014, Republicans will run against Obamacare, and just as with Bush and Rumsfeld, Sebelius’ resignation comes too late.

Expect the GOP to have electoral success and no amount of political gimmicks and empty rhetorical speeches will save Obama. The other person who is still an anchor about his leg is Eric Holder, and to some extent, Lois Lerner. And I forgot that little issue with abandoning Americans to die in Benghazi. Ex-CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson will do some serious damage to Obama and his liberal media cronies.

The resignation of Kathleen Sebelius is like the iceberg that sank the Titanic. It is just a visible tip on the surface. The true danger lies below, and the SS Obama is taking on water.

Judge rules flashing headlights is free speech in Oregon case

(Fox News) – Hauling a truckload of logs to a Southern Oregon mill last fall, Chris Hill noticed a sheriff’s deputy behind him and flashed his lights to warn a UPS driver coming the other way.

The deputy pulled over Hill on U.S. Highway 140 in White City and handed him a $260 ticket for improperly using his headlights, saying another deputy had seen the flashing lights from behind the UPS truck and alerted him to stop the log truck because of the signaling.

Outraged, Hill decided to fight the ticket, and on Wednesday, a Jackson County Justice Court judge dismissed the citation, finding that motorists flashing their headlights amounts to speech protected by the Oregon Constitution.

Judge Joseph Carter determined the law covering the use of high beams was valid, but was unconstitutional as it was applied by the deputy.

“The citation was clearly given to punish the Defendant for that expression,” the judge wrote. “The government certainly can and should enforce the traffic laws for the safety of all drivers on the road. However, the government cannot enforce the traffic laws, or any other laws, to punish drivers for their expressive conduct.”

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office did not return a telephone call for comment.

Hill, 38, of Klamath Falls, has been driving truck for 10 years, and was not interested in seeing his insurance rates go up for getting a ticket. He initially told the deputy that the UPS driver was his neighbor, and he was just saying hello.

“My point to the cop was his partner didn’t know why I was flashing my lights,” Hill said. “He couldn’t tell for sure what I was doing.”

By the time his case went to court last month, Hill had researched the law and found nothing that expressly prohibited the use of headlights to signal other drivers. He also recalled a TV news story about a federal judge in the Midwest barring police from handing out tickets to drivers who flashed their lights to warn others of a speed trap ahead.

“I thought, `Well, I’ll throw that in there, too,”‘ he said.

Acting as his own attorney in a hearing conducted by telephone, Hill said he acknowledged the UPS driver wasn’t his neighbor, and he raised the free speech argument.

“What I did wasn’t illegal, whether it’s freedom of speech or not,” he told The Associated Press.

Dave Fidanque, director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon, noted the Oregon Court of Appeals overturned a traffic law prohibiting horn honking for non-traffic purposes on similar grounds in the 1990s after a number of people got tickets for honking in support of U.S. troops during the first Gulf War.

“If the motive of the sheriff’s deputies was in fact not to make the roads safer, but to raise more revenue from traffic enforcement, that would be even more reason why it should be unconstitutional,” Fidanque said. “If this is part of a pattern, then it probably would be worth us looking into it in more detail.”

Palin Warns Holder on Gun Bracelets: ‘You Don’t Want to Go There, Buddy’

(Breitbart) – After Attorney General Eric Holder revealed that he was considering forcing gun owners to wear identifying bracelets, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin harshly warned him that he better not even think about trying to implement the idea.

“Eric, ‘You don’t want to go there, buddy,'” she declared on Wednesday.

Palin posted a photo (see below) of the three bracelets she often wears and explained the significance of each:

Hey Eric, these are my identifying bracelets:

One honors our military;

One honors independent Americans who have a healthy distrust of Washington’s permanent political class and who will fight against elitists hell-bent on fundamentally transforming the USA;

And one celebrates the year 1791 – that glorious year our Bill of Rights came to be, with the cross and bones symbol representing our Founders’ “Death to Tyranny” commitment, and on each side you’ll see symbols of my faith. Complete with Swarovski crystals, I might add.”

“Eric, you can replace my identifying bracelets with your government marker when you pry them off my cold, dead wrists,” Palin then added.

Photo: Attorney General Eric Holder thinks government should force gun owners to wear special “identifying” bracelets? Hey Eric, these are my identifying bracelets: One honors our military; One honors independent Americans who have a healthy distrust of Washington's permanent political class and who will fight against elitists hell-bent on fundamentally transforming the USA; And one celebrates the year 1791 – that glorious year our Bill of Rights came to be, with the cross and bones symbol representing our Founders’

On Friday, Holder told a House Committee that he was exploring the idea of gun bracelets.

“I think that one of the things that we learned when we were trying to get passed those common sense reforms last year, Vice President Biden and I had a meeting with a group of technology people and we talked about how guns can be made more safe,” Holder said. “By making them either through finger print identification, the gun talks to a bracelet or something that you might wear, how guns can be used only by the person who is lawfully in possession of the weapon.”

Hillary Clinton Dodges a Shoe on Stage [VIDEO]

(The Daily Caller) – A unidentified woman threw a shoe at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Thursday during a speech for The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries in Las Vegas.

Clinton ducked and was initially confused by what had come at her.

“What was that? A bat? Was that a bat? That somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque du Soleil?” she asked the audience.

She joked afterward about the incident: “My goodness, I didn’t know solid waste management was so controversial.”

It was not clear what the woman was protesting, but she was quickly taken into custody following the shoe throwing.

Shoe-throwing has notably been a form of protest abroad.  During a press conference in 2008 at the Prime Minister’s Palace in Baghdad, one journalist yelled at President George W. Bush “This is a farewell kiss from the Iraqi people, you dog!” as he threw his shoes.
