Breaking: Michael Hastings Was Investigating CIA Director John Brennan

Journalist Michael Hastings was investigating CIA director John Brennan before his untimely death in a suspicious car accident it has been revealed, with the report set to be published posthumously by Rolling Stone Magazine within the next two weeks.

According to San Diego 6 News reporter Kimberly Dvorak, “John Brennan was Hastings next exposé project.” Dvorak says she received an email from the CIA, “acknowledging Hastings was working on a CIA story,” although the text of that email was not displayed.

Dvorak also cites a Stratfor email hacked by Wikileaks and first published last year which names Brennan as being, “behind the witch hunts of investigative journalists learning information from inside the beltway sources.”

“There is specific tasker from the WH to go after anyone printing materials negative to the Obama agenda (oh my.) Even the FBI is shocked,” states the email.

Before being sworn in as CIA director in March this year, Brennan was a counterterrorism advisor for the Obama administration and helped compile the “kill lists” for the White House’s drone assassination program.

A separate email Dvorak received from CIA media spokesman Todd Ebitz states, “Any suggestion that Director Brennan has ever attempted to infringe on constitutionally-protected press freedoms is offensive and baseless.”

Was Hastings about to reveal that Brennan had been tasked with targeting independent reporters who were in the business of releasing sensitive information?

Dvorak claims that Hastings’ posthumous exposé of Brennan will be published by Rolling Stone Magazine within the next two weeks, although this has yet to be confirmed by the publication itself.

Infowars first reported that Hastings was likely investigating the CIA prior to his death following the comments of Hastings’ close friend Sgt. Joe Biggs, who revealed that the journalist was working on “the biggest story yet” about the CIA.

Hastings sent an email hours before his death stating he was “onto a big story” and needed “to go off the rada[r] for a bit.” A separate close friend of Hastings also told Infowars that the journalist’s home was visited by agents from an unnamed federal agency the day before his death.

Analysis of the recently released surveillance footage of Hastings’ vehicle in the moments before the crash, which was carried out by SDSU professor Morteza M. Mehrabadi, Professor and Interim Chair Areas of Specialization: Mechanics of Materials, also suggests that Hastings was not speeding before his Mercedes hit a tree.

The footage appears to confirm eyewitness reports that the car suffered an “explosion” before it hit the tree, suggesting some kind of incendiary device was planted on the vehicle.

By measuring the distance traveled by the car on the surveillance clip and the time that elapsed before the explosion, Professor Mehrabadi was able to calculate that the car was only traveling at a speed of 35 MPH, and not speeding as some reports claimed.

“The pre-explosion and slower speed could also explain the minimal damage to the palm tree and the facts the rear tires rested against the curb. It also provides an explanation for the location of the engine and drive train at more than 100 feet from the tree impact area,” writes Dvorak.

Benghazi Update: Filmmaker Blamed for Attack Speaks in First TV Interview

National Review reported: In his first television interview since being released, the filmmaker who produced the YouTube video blamed for inciting the 9/11 attacks in Benghazi urged the Obama administration to be more careful in its assessments in the future. He was released from a Texas jail last week after serving an eleven-month sentence and is currently living in a halfway house, where he said the government is currently “hiding” him.

“Before you do anything, please give yourself time to think about it,” Nakoula Basseley Nakoula advised the administration on Tuesday in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

Nakoula said he was “shocked” when he first heard reports that his film had triggered riots, but added that he does not blame the president for alleging that his film incited protests outside of the American diplomatic facility in Benghazi that preceded the attack on the building and the murders of four Americans. “We need to make [a separation] between the president and the administration,” he said. When asked if held a grudge against former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, however, or whether the administration’s claims, now widely debunked, put his life in danger, Nakoula declined to comment.

Just days after last year’s September 11 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, Nakoula was arrested and charged with a parole violation for a bank-fraud conviction. President Obama, Clinton, and then–U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice blamed Nakoula’s film for the attack.

Mitch McConnell: Don’t Open Obamacare Exchanges Without Security Guarantees

Breitbart reported: Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell has called on the Obama Administration not to open the Obamacare state health exchanges because the security of Americans’ personal data cannot be assured.

A press release Monday indicated that McConnell sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), asserting that no American should be forced to seek health care coverage on the exchanges scheduled to open on October 1st, especially since the government is missing deadlines to test the systems and cannot guarantee that Americans’ personal and financial data will be kept secure.

McConnell responded to a report by the Inspector General of Health and Human Services (HHS), who stated that CMS has missed deadlines for testing and reporting data security risks associated with signing up for health insurance on the exchanges. The Inspector General indicated that, due to the delays, a final security assessment report is not expected until 10 days before the Federal Data Services Hub is scheduled to open, leaving little time to address any security problems identified.

McConnell addressed his letter to CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner and wrote that the exchanges should not open until the Inspector General can verify that Americans’ personal and financial data is protected from hackers and cyber criminals.

According to Reuters, if the exchanges open with security problems, the most common type of security breach would be identity theft, whereby a hacker is able to steal the Social Security numbers and other private data Americans will provide when they sign up to participate in a health insurance plan.

However, Michael Astrue, former Commissioner of the Social Security Administration, indicated that security failures in the exchanges could allow even domestic abusers to use vulnerabilities in the system to locate their victims.

McConnell wrote:

While I have grave concerns about this law under any circumstance, Americans should not be forced into the exchanges, and certainly not without these assurances. If you rush to go forward without adequate safeguards in place, any theft of personal information from constituents will be the result of your rush to implement a law to meet the agency’s political needs and not the operational needs of the people it is supposed to serve.

Though McConnell emphasized his own opposition to ObamaCare and support for full repeal of the law, he also observed that in recent months, some of President Obama’s closest allies have also raised serious concerns about the “train wreck” that is soon to come upon the nation:

While I believe we ought to repeal this law and replace it with commonsense reforms that lower cost, Americans ought to be assured, at an absolute minimum, that their personal and financial data will be safe from data thieves.

Ted Cruz’s Father: Tears into Obamacare, Says It Will ‘Destroy the Elderly’

The Blaze reported: Rafael Cruz—father of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) who’s fast becoming a popular speaker on politically conservative issues—tore into the president’s policies over the weekend, pointedly declaring that “Obamacare is going to destroy the elderly.”

Cruz, 74, said “this administration has both their hands in your pocket; they’re going to take everything you have,” ABC News reports, noting the crowd’s passionate applause to Cruz’s compelling arguments at the conservative Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa.

Near the end of his speech, he declared: “Obamacare is going to destroy the elderly by denying care, by even perhaps denying treatment to people who are in catastrophic circumstances.”

The elder Cruz, a Texas pastor, spoke without notes on other topics, including his imprisonment and torture in Cuba in the 1950s, making the most of his chance to make a better life for himself in America, and living by faith in the face of spiritual opposition, and responsibility to family.

Later this month, the elder Cruz is scheduled for a nationwide “Defund Obamacare Tour” organized by the Heritage Foundation.

Gun Sight and Scope Manufacturer Files Suit Over ObamaCare Abortion Pill Mandate

Renowned military sight and scope manufacturer Trijicon Inc. has filed suit against the Obama administration over the Health and Human Services mandate for employers to provide coverage for contraception and abortion services.

Breitbart reported: The mandate is a directive springing from Obamacare which demands that nearly all businesses that employ more than 50 employees provide “insurance coverage for abortion-inducing drugs and devices, sterilization, and contraception under threat of heavy penalties.” Employers are mandated to do this “regardless of their religious or moral convictions.”

On August 8, the Department of Justice said it would not oppose “Trijicon’s request for a court order that would suspend enforcement of the mandate against the company.”

Trijicon’s suit comes after 32 suits have already been filed requesting that the mandate be blocked. Out of those 32 suits, courts have sided with religious freedom over the mandate 25 times.

Besides military operations, Trijicon also makes sights and scopes for sporting applications. The Bindon family that owns Trijicon has always run the company in accord with their Christian beliefs, and they want to continue doing so. They believe the mandate to provide abortive and contraceptive is a clear violation of the freedom of religion and freedom of conscience protections outlined in the First Amendment.

The Dreadful Truth Of Medicaid = Poor Health Outcomes for Kids

There is a small cohort of left-of-center health policy analysts who remain in denial about the poor health outcomes caused by Medicaid. And understandably: the principal rationale for Obamacare was its expansion of insurance coverage, half of which comes from a reckless enlargement of Medicaid. If patients on Medicaid fare worse than those who aren’t, then spending $100 billion a year to expand the program is a disastrous choice.

Back in March, I wrote about the Health Tracking Study Physician Survey, which showed that internists are 8.5 times as likely to reject all Medicaid patients, as compared to those with private insurance. In this week’s New England Journal of Medicine comes a new study in which individuals, posing as mothers of children with common medical conditions requiring specialty care, called outpatient clinics asking for doctors’ appointments. Those representing themselves as having Medicaid or State Children’s Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP) insurance were denied an appointment 66 percent of the time, compared to only 11 percent of those saying they had private insurance: a ratio of 6 to 1…

In addition, the authors reported, those clinics that accepted both Medicaid/S-CHIP and privately-insured children, the average wait time for an appointment was, on average, 22 days longer for those on Medicaid/S-CHIP: 42 days versus 20.

Obama Administration: Bowing Head to Enemies and Turning Back To Our Allies

The Obama regime has been bowing heads to enemies and turning backs on allies since the chosen one has been illegally placed into office in 2008.

This Regime has a long, unfortunate history of “bowing and kowtowing to our enemies”, as Sarah Palin once put it, while snubbing our allies – whether whole nations like Israel, or individuals like Shakil Khan Afridi, the Pakistani doctor who helped us with the Bin Laden raid, or  “Hafez”, the heroic Afghan translator Javier referred to, who has been helping American soldiers fight the Taliban.

Fox News reports that Hafez, who fought alongside Metal of Honor recipient, Sgt. Dakota Meyer, has been waiting for three years to obtain a special visa that would allow him to live in the United States.

Meyer says the Taliban has a target on Hafez’s back, and that his life is in serious danger. The situation is made worse, Meyer says, by the fact that Hafez has been waiting for so long to get into the United States.

In a recent email to Meyer, Hafez wrote: “The reason I am bothering you the security situation where I am living geeing [sic] worse, and every night I am guarding to protect me self and my family. If you are getting upset it is OK, I will not bother you anymore.”

In an interview with Fox News, Meyer said he won’t rest until Hafez makes his way to the United States. “Hafez was with me the entire time. He is such a great man,” he said. Meyer said Hafez’s actions were just as heroic as his own.

When Meyer got to the scene of the Taliban ambush in the Ganjgal Valley, Hafez had already been shot and was making his way out.   “I looked at him and said ‘I need you to go back in.’ He had just had a new kid,” Meyer said. “He said ‘Inshallah’ and said if it is my day to die it is my day to die. He was right next to me. … He was handing me more ammo and at one point he got the gun and was covering me.”

Bing West, a former assistant secretary of Defense and author of “Into the Fire,” a book that documents the deadly battle, said because of his involvement in that battle, the Taliban knows Hafez’s true identity.

“Hafez killed many Taliban and he was yelling at them over the radio,” West said in an interview with Fox News. “So the Taliban know who he is and for four years he has been left out in the battlefield — gradually they are going to get him.”

Mob of 50 Blacks Attack White Man, Ray Widstrand, and Puts Him into a Coma, Once Again, Where is the Media Outcry?

UPDATE 8/19/2013:

Duluth News Tribune reports: Ray Widstrand, the passerby attacked while walking in St. Paul’s Payne-Phalen neighborhood earlier this month, continues to make improvement, though by “small steps.”

A post on Widstrand’s Caring Bridge page from Saturday said “Ray is still in the ICU, but he was off the ventilator for a few hours yesterday. Doctors are going to try to take him off the ventilator more today. Small steps, but in the right direction.”

Widstrand, who suffered severe head injuries, has been hospitalized since Aug. 4. He was out for a walk in his neighborhood when he tried to walk through a group of about 30 to 50 juveniles and young adults who were fighting, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Ramsey County attorney’s office.

Police later found him on the sidewalk, bleeding from his nose and mouth, his pants removed and shirt torn.

Four people, including three juveniles, have been charged in the assault.

WND reported: A St. Paul, Minn., man is in a coma today, fighting for his life after a black mob beat him, stripped his clothes off and left him for dead. Even if he recovers, he will have permanent brain damage.

Ray Widstrand thought he had nothing to fear from moving into a black neighborhood on the East Side of St. Paul. This young white guy and aspiring filmmaker thought he had nothing to fear when he decided to take a Sunday night stroll through his adopted part of town.

Nothing to fear from a crowd of 50 black people fighting outside a nearby party. So he stopped to check it out. Soon, however, the mob’s attention turned on him.

“The first person who struck him had hit him with a can in a sock,” said one witness in a police report. “The man went down and a ‘whole bunch of little eastside boys’ began to kick the man. She saw them strip him of his pants and go through the pockets.”

When police arrived, the black mob scattered, leaving only Ray behind.

“He had blood coming from his nose and mouth and was unresponsive,” said the police report. “As of August 8th, the prognosis for recovery is slight, and should he live, he will suffer permanent and protracted loss of brain function.”

Four black people have been arrested so far.

At a press conference, Ray’s father said his son did not feel the neighborhood was dangerous. Ray was a good person, a gentle person, a sweet person, said his friends and family. He liked comic books and posing in superhero outfits for gag photos. As an aspiring filmmaker, Ray contributed the opening sequence of a local cable-access news-talk show about “meeting neighbors, making friends.”

This 26-year old free spirit took people as he found them. He hoped for the same. Others in St. Paul know better. At least in that neighborhood.

“This is not super uncommon,” said Bob Fox in the reader comment section of the Pioneer Press. “I have seen a white guy or two get surrounded and beat down and robbed quite a few times. Around the bus stops at 5th and Minnesota and 6th and Minnesota are the worst. Damn right it is a hate crime. They attack like a pack of wolves.”

Many of the episodes of the black mob violence in the Twin Cities region – and the officials denials they are happening at all – are documented in “White Girl Bleed a Lot: The Return of Racial Violence and How the Media Ignore It.”

There are dozens of examples in the book where some, like Ray, feel invulnerable to the danger of racial violence. Some have died. They were suffering from what psychologists called an inflated sense of safety in overtly dangerous situations: “Infantile omnipotence.”

“Some people think they can be safe in a dangerous neighborhood,” said Marlin Newburn, a former prison psychologist and author of the upcoming book: “Send Your Kids to Jail: A Manual for the Mutant Parent.” “They are like infants. Preadolescents truly feel themselves as 10 feet tall and bullet proof, and the infantalized teen or adult feels the same way: They do not believe what they have not personally experienced.”

Earlier this year in Chicago, a jury said much the same thing. The city of Chicago paid $22.5 million to the family of a white woman that city jailers released into a black neighborhood. Soon after meeting with a crowd of black people, she was tossed from a seven-story building. Some still say she jumped to avoid a violent attack.

During the trial, Harvard sociology professor Robert Sampson said it can be routinely expected that white people in black neighborhoods are in danger. He called it RAT: Routine Activity Theory. The judge explained RAT by saying the woman “was a white female in a predominantly black, poor neighborhood (and) she had a much higher risk of predatory victimization.”

Judge Frank Easterbrook went on: “She is white and well-off, while the local population is predominantly black and not affluent, causing her to stand out as a person unfamiliar with the environment and, thus, a potential target for crime.”

The woman had approached a black resident of a nearby housing project for help but was turned away.

“The woman got on my floor and tried to get in apartment,” said one resident to the Chicago ABC affiliate. “I said, ‘No, white and black don’t mix.’”

The City of Chicago tried to say that RAT was thinly disguised racial profiling. But at the trial, RAT and race were everywhere – no matter how hard the city worked to keep it out. No matter how dedicated local media were to ignoring it.

If Ray depended on the local media for information, he would not have been aware of an epidemic of racial violence in the Twin Cities region. Many examples of this violence are documented, often with video tape, in “White Girl Bleed a Lot: The Return of Racial Violence and How the Media Ignore It.”

Last year, a rash of more than a dozen cases of black mob attacks in downtown Minneapolis left at least one man with severe brain injuries as well.

A St. Patrick’s Day mauling from 20 black people left a graphic artist with serious brain injuries and no short-term memory.

An hour before he was beat and kicked into the Intensive Care Unit, 20 black people assaulted an out-of-town couple at the exact same intersection. The Star Tribune was squeamish about reporting the race of the criminals, but City Pages was not:

Melissa screamed as three separate youths came at Kirk, throwing punches. Kirk says he was able to dodge the blows. He remembers one of the assailants smiling while he threw punches, “like it was fun.” As people on the street started to take notice of the attack, the mob dispersed, leaving Kirk one-on-one with a man he says was over 6 feet tall.

“I dodged several of his punches before he ran off,” Kirk said, adding that he himself didn’t punch anyone. “I believe that if it wasn’t for my wife’s screaming I would have been seriously injured.”

Thankfully, he ended up with nothing more than a swollen neck. Melissa, a 33-year-old school teacher, was pushed, and one of the assailants burned her hand with a cigarette, she says.

After the mob dispersed, Kirk and Melissa made their way back to the Marquette. There, they talked to a police officer about the incident.

Wrote Melissa in an email: The “cop wasn’t that interested in taking a report, since we didn’t have descriptions – just African-American. … [I] wonder how many people have been attacked, since our story isn’t even part of the stats.”

There were others, lots of others, at the Mall of America, St. Paul and other places throughout the area.

But the daily papers are loathe to report the race of the perpetrators or how they occur from black mobs exponentially out of proportion.

In September 2011, a group of black people attacked a mobile alcoholic beverage cart in Minneapolis – stealing, threatening. The newspapers dutifully reported the crime, and dutifully ignored the race of the attackers – except for the University of Minnesota newspaper, which in its early editions identified the attackers by race, but removed it in later editions.

Which is how it should be, said Minneapolis police spokesman William Palmer:

“The MPD does not track arrestees by race,” said Palmer. “And frankly, no, it doesn’t matter. We arrest and prepare criminal cases for consideration of prosecution for those people who choose to break the law. Race has nothing to do with it.”

Maybe the City of Chicago should have called Palmer as a witness. Maybe it could have saved the city $22.5 million from a civil judgment that said otherwise.

As the attacks proliferate, so do the denials that race has anything to do with the attacks. But more and more people in the Twin Cities region are wondering what is going on. They also wonder when local media and public officials are going to start to tell the truth about it.

“A gang of African-American males and females beat a white male nearly to death, and it isn’t a hate crime?” said Tiffany Johnson in the reader comment section of the Pioneer Press. “And why isn’t the NAACP speaking out about this terrible crime?”

“The media continues to dismay with their clear double standard in news coverage regarding their agenda in matters of race,” said Keith Olson. “The media loves to sensationalize white-on-black victimization and literally turns a blind eye when the races are reversed. I am not surprised whatsoever that whites are finally showing their displeasure with this sort of distortion when it comes to the propaganda they are fed.”

“If you look at the crime stats, the vast majority of such incidents are committed by young black males,” said Jim Russell. “We can’t help them solve this problem if we won’t admit it exists. Don’t make it worse by falling for the PC media narratives.”

The beating took place Sunday, August 4, but local residents did not learn about it from local media for almost a week. That also brought down a heaping of scorn on local media.

This comment found at the web site of the local ABC affiliate: “These losers stomped on this man’s head and practically beat him to death!” said Nicole Rhoades. “Why did it take so long to get news coverage on this story?

Benghazi: 400 Surface-to-Air Missiles Were Stolen During Attack and Are Now ‘In The Hands of Some Very Ugly People’

So now the ‘auxiliary fallout’ commences from the ruffian actions of our government in the Middle East.  400 Surface-to-Air Missiles have most likely gotten into the hands of some very nasty people.  Thank you Mr. Obama.

The Blaze reported: A former U.S. attorney representing Benghazi whistleblowers is claiming that 400 surface-to-air missiles were “taken from Libya” during the deadly attack and are now “in the hands of some very ugly people.” He also said the Obama administration is “deeply concerned” that the weapons may be used to shoot down airliners.

In an interview with WMAL radio, Joe DiGenova explained that the stolen missiles also represent one of the reasons the U.S. State Department shut down 19 embassies across the Middle East last week.

He said the development has the Obama administration “deeply concerned” and on alert.

Even more potentially shocking, DiGenova claimed the missiles are now in the hands of al-Qaeda operatives, according to his sources. His sources include “former intelligence officials who stay in constant contact with people in the Special Ops and intelligence community.”

“And it’s pretty clear that the biggest concern right now are 400 missiles which have been diverted in Libya and have gotten in the hands of some very ugly people,” he added.

What was not immediately clear is why the U.S. government had stockpiled 400 surface-to-air missiles somewhere in Libya. However, the attorney said “it is clear that the [CIA] annex was somehow involved in the process of the distribution of those missiles.”

DiGenova’s wife, Victoria Toensing, also represents Benghazi witnesses and other individuals with direct knowledge of the attack.
