BENGHAZI HEARING: Key Takeaways from First Hearing, 5/8/2013

1. Two “stand-down” orders were given while the Benghazi attacks were in progress.

2. The “protest” about a YouTube video was a complete fabrication by the Obama administration.

This talking point was dismissed the first week it came out and the hearings today simply confirmed that the Obama Administration was lying every step of the way.

3. Clinton’s attorney at the State Department, Cheryl Mills, told witnesses not to speak to House investigators.

Gregory Hicks, deputy chief of mission for the United States in Libya, and the top US official in Libya after the September 11, 2012 Benghazi terrorist attacks, testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee today – and he told Congress that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s State Department lawyers tried to stop him from talking to Congresspeople investigating. “I was instructed not to allow the RSO [Regional Security Officer], the acting deputy chief of mission and myself to be personally interviewed by Congressman [Jason] Chaffetz [of Utah],” said Hicks.

4. The diplomatic personnel on the ground acted with incredible, unheralded heroism.

5. Democrats came to rebut the eyewitnesses with talking points.

A few items were gleaned from the hearings regarding Hillary Clinton’s role in the coverup:

1. Hillary Clinton’s spokeswoman Victoria Nuland demanded the Talking Points be changed.
2. Clinton’s friend Susan Rice was tasked with delivering the falsified Talking Points to the public.
3. Clinton’s chief of staff and lawyer Cheryl Mills attempted to blockade Gregory Hicks from talking about the falsity of the Talking Points.
4. Clinton’s Department of State demoted the much-praised, much-promoted Gregory Hicks after he talked about the Talking Points.
